Welcome to The Sheffield Swim School
Sheffield Swim School operates from Oakes Park School Pool in Norton offering high quality swimming lessons whilst being easily affordable for mums & dads.
Our teachers are qualified ASA swimming teachers, with a background in sports development and facility management. All staff are police checked and bring a wealth of experience & enthusiasm to the poolside. We are a small and close-knit team providing quality & consistency.
We recognise that children learn through play & repetition and our aim is to provide our pupils with a thoroughly enjoyable experience in order to acquire new skills as quickly as possible, to motivate them to remain in the sport and to obtain a vital lifelong & healthy skill.
Our programme runs through school term time with crash courses during some holidays. Just like school, we keep records on all our pupils. Parents will receive a progress report on their child at least once every half term.
We deliver the ASA Awards Scheme including Ducklings and the National Plan for Teaching Swimming along with various complimentary awards like distance & stroke technique awards.
There is no start or finish dates for each ability level as all children learn at different rates. Assessment is continuous therefore, pupils will be moved up as soon as they achieve the required criteria. | How to pay:
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, card or Standing order. Please don’t send cash through the post.
Lessons:
All our lessons are currently full and we are operating a lengthy waiting list. Once you are allocated a space in lessons, your booking will be confirmed by post.

Venue:
Oaks Park School Pool (near the water tower) is 20 metres long & 10 metres wide with shallow & deep water allowing children to progress from non-swimmer through to advanced level.
Pool:
The water is lovely and warm at 33° c, warmer than most pools so the children won't be shivering during their lesson.
Parking:
The pool is easily accessible with ample car parking space and a bus stop outside, serviced by the number 2, 33, & 34 bus. Buses number 43 & 59 stop at the Water Tower, which is a minute's walk to the school.
